Which Direction Does the Grain Run?

The face grain on our plywood sheets always runs along the longer dimension of the sheet.

For example, on a standard 2440 x 1220mm sheet, the grain runs along the 2440mm (length) direction. If a product is listed as  1220 x 2440mm, the grain runs along the 2440mm direction (the second measurement in that case).

A simple rule: the grain follows the bigger number.
